This is a newer huipil from the village of San Antonio Aguas Caliente. The woven birds are traditional to San Antonio but these are a different design and colors are more vibrant. The base cloth is woven on a back-strap loom. There are some loose threads on this piece but it is in good shape and quite charming. 21" long from shoulder to bottom - sewn with small arm holes which are very simple to take a few stitches out to make larger. Across huipil measures 23". Both sides of huipil are shown.
