This 1980's faja or hand-woven belt was woven on a back-strap loom in the traditional style of Totonicapan. Note in the close up pictures, the woven images of birds, animals, and people. One half of the belt is in blue, greens, and purples and the other half is in bright colors. Excellent condition for it's age and very fine weaving.
Faja (belt) from Totonicapan, Guatemala 96" long (including the ties) x 2 1/4" wide.
