Oaxacan hand-woven shawl

This handwoven lightweight shawl is woven in Xaaga in the Valley of Oaxaca. It is a mostly cotton plain weave ornamented with stripes across the fabric in leno weave. Patterns woven in a lighter color rayon reflect light and add an interesting dimension to the design. Varying colors in the warp and weft threads create a pretty color/texture in the fabric.  Drapes nicely. 22 3/4” wide X 83 1/2” long plus a 5” fringe.
