This is a vintage and traditional Tehuana blouse with chain stitch embroidery and floral designs on black satin by indigenous Zapotec women from Tehuantepec in Oaxaca, Mexico. These blouses were worn by Frida Kahlo as they were a representation of Mexican indigenous pride, cultural resistance and the region's matriarchal society. As this is an older piece (approx. 25-30 years) there may be some loose threads but overall it is in very good condition. This is a very collectible piece. 24" across and 19" long on each side (shoulder to bottom of blouse)
