This is a vintage huipil from Oaxaca, Mexico made by an indigenous Triqui woman. There are probably 400 hours of work in this huipil. The 3 panels were woven on a back-strap loom from natural brown Coyuchi cotton. The ribbons, depending on how they are tied, may symbolize whether a woman is single or married. 32" wide and 42" long from shoulder to hem on each side. A very collectible piece.
