Nahuala, Guatemala 54" long (or 27" each side) x 33" wide. 1980's Nahuala huipil with traditional back-strap woven depiction of animals - this huipil depicts horses. The women in Nahuala intentionally use a dye that will run as that is the desired result. This huipil is a wonderful example of a traditional Nahuala huipil. The cotton base is now a subtle pink and there are some stains (visible in the picture) but this is an excellent example of Nahuala weaving.
