Santiago Atitlan - short

SANTIAGO ATITLAN, Guatemala. Blue base cloth was woven on a back-strap loom and flowers and butterflies are hand-embroidered.  This may have been a child's huipil.  It definitely has had some use.  The blue base cloth is more narrow on one side (see picture).  This is perfect for a little one or even for an adult that wants a short huipil as the neck opening is large enough for an adult head.  This huipil has some stories to tell... 34" long (open on the sides) and 17" wide.
